Elli, the electric vehicle charging infrastructure brand of Volkswagen Group, has announced the expansion of its charging network, boasting over 600,000 charging points across 27 European countries. In addition to expanding its network footprint, Elli strategically extends its mobile service business, emphasizing customer satisfaction as a top priority.
In December last year, Elli announced a milestone of 400,000 electric vehicle charging points, asserting its position as the largest charging network on the African continent. Remarkably, the company seems to have added an additional 200,000 charging points in just one year.
Giovanni Palazzo, CEO of Elli, expressed his delight at the latest developments, stating, "At the beginning of the new year, we bring incredible news: offering a pan-European network with over 600,000 charging points is a significant achievement for Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH. However, our commitment goes beyond quantity; it's about ensuring a high-quality charging experience, driving electric vehicle adoption, and societal decarbonization."
One key initiative to enhance charging quality is the "Preferred Partner Network," an effort by Volkswagen Group to elevate customer charging experiences. It comprises carefully selected premium charging point operators based on rigorous quality standards.
Furthermore, the network features top-notch charging stations, on-site convenient high-performance charging infrastructure, and excellent operational reliability. Currently, IONITY Europe, Aral Pulse, Audi Charging Centers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as Ewiva in Italy, are part of the Preferred Partner Network.
Palazzo, recognized in the ETN 2023 Emerging Technology Global Leaders list, noted, "With the ongoing momentum of electric vehicles, Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH continues to lead innovation, contributing to the establishment of a robust and reliable charging and energy infrastructure across Europe."
